SHAUN BAILEY ACHIEVES DIPLOMA IN COMPANY DIRECTION
Shaun Bailey, Managing Director of Jacob Bailey Limited has successfully achieved the highly sought after Institute of Directors (IOD) Diploma In Company Direction.
Shaun, founder of the London and Suffolk based marketing and design group, which now consists of the Jacob Bailey Ipswich, London and White Space Design ensemble of agencies has earned a highly regarded reputation both for himself and for the business across the region.
“I believe success is based on reputation”, Shaun said,” From the moment we hit the start button on Jacob Bailey, I wanted clients to have instant confidence in us, not just in creative output and results produced but also in how the company operates”. He went on to say: “As critical as it is to create strong, targeted communications, if the delivery isn’t driven by professional management and processes, then flaws in your overall business offering begin to show and client confidence and reputation in general could drop”.
He told us that as a company, Jacob Bailey believes that although high levels of relevant experience among staff is crucial to maintaining the delivery level expected by their clients, it must also be supported by professional development and qualifications. The company therefore has in place a monitored personal development programme for staff, from which directors are not excluded.
As the Jacob Bailey group progressed, Shaun despite previously demonstrating capable direction wanted to fine tune and progress his skills as Managing Director in line with the company. He chose to study the IOD Diploma in Company Direction. As a reputable and venerated establishment, qualifications gained from the IOD have substance and carry a great deal of weight among the business fraternity.
The Diploma content enables directors to exercise their gained knowledge in a realistic but risk-free environment, encouraging peer group support, challenge and stimulation and in the words of the IOD, mirroring in many ways the operation of a board.
Of the IOD course, Shaun commented: “As an MD you need to develop in line with your company and indeed your staff, it is complete folly to believe that because of your seniority within a business, there’s nothing more to learn. The content of the IOD Diploma is devised and structured to stretch your current knowledge, develop new skills and test it all out in realistic scenarios all while gaining encouragement from fellow students. It’s a demanding course but I would recommend it as part of your business development”.
So what’s the next step for Shaun Bailey? As a newly associated company of Jacob Bailey, Shaun now sits on the board of Ipswich based printer DNA as Non-Executive Chairman, and looks forward to achieving the prestigious Chartered Director status. Shaun commented:” With only around 700 in the country, Chartered Directors are considered to be strategic business leaders of the highest degree and influential figure heads of successful businesses. Jacob Bailey deserves to have that sort of figure at the helm”.
